Learning Sites president, Donald H. Sanders, will be giving a talk at the Leiden archaeological museum's conference on ancient Nineveh. He will also give public virtual reality demos featuring immersive experiences inside the throne room of Learning Sites' 3D model of the Northwest Palace of the Assyrian king Ashur-nasir-pal II, at Nimrud (destroyed by ISIS in 2015).
Learning Sites' rendering of an Assyrian queen has been chosen to grace January's issue of the prestigious journal, American Journal of Archaeology. There is also a full article in the issue about the queen, including additional images of our first-ever depiction of a fully clothed and bejeweled Assyrian queen. Soon, the queen will find her rightful place inside our virtual recreations of Assyrian palaces.
Learning Sites will have a display booth in the exhibit hall at next year's Archaeological Institute of America's annual meeting, in Boston, Jan. 4-7, 2018.
