View east over West Area I, early during the first season of work here in 1975. The two lamassu (#12 and #13 on the plan below) can be seen from behind in the center of the photo (one fully exposed, the other partially hidden by the unexcavated scarp).

View west across the entry paving of the gateway in the West Area I, early during the first season of work here in 1975. The single in-situ bas-relief (#8 on the plan below) can be seen end on just above the door pivot block.
